A teacher asks her 8 year old student, “and what would you like to do when you grow up?”
The child responds, “I want to save the world!”
To which she replies, “Well anything is possible.”
20 years later, much has changed in the world…
…but neither the child’s dream nor the world’s need for saving has.

There are two people in the world…

The ones who struggle to find their purpose and the ones who create their purpose.

The ones who live in pursuit of happiness and the ones who invoke happiness.

The ones who are actively living and the ones who just haven’t died yet.

You will notice a blue box to the right. This is to provide a soundtrack to the chapters of this site. Please take a moment to listen to some of the amazing music that helped inspire these words. Also, take a moment throughout your day to read some of the chapters (if not all).

Lastly, leave a comment on any of the pages you read. Most people feel compelled to read what others thought before they even begin to read for themselves. In an ideal world people would simply find out for themselves, but until then please facilitate the passage of wisdom by leaving a comment.

Thank you. Thank you.

A realist is a litte bit of both I would like to assume. We go back and forth about life and the meaning of it depending on the type of day we are having but we never lose sight of what’s really important… which is to not dwell on happiness and just accept it as it comes. Let happiness be a virtue and not a priority.

    • July 1, 2011 9:53 PM

I think spreading happiness should be a priority right now. Sure you can sit back and accept it, but there are those of us brave enough to step into a crowd, crack a smile and wave a friendly hand. Simply accepting happiness as it comes is greedy. Why not share something so beautiful with the world.

Also, to say that this is great is an understatement. You’re right: There are people who are actively living, and those who haven’t died yet. I work daily to ensure I’m in the former category.

I hope you’ll enjoy blogging as much as I do!

You are doing an awesome job so far…but I beg to differ with you with the title though…I like the title do not get me wrong ” AN EFFORT TO SAVE THE WORLD….BECAUSE SOMEONE HAS TO” …you can save so much in this world. The world is too big that there are not a lot of us to save…I’m not being negative..but it overexhausts you, me, etc…I know it does because of friends that have came and gone all our lives and hearing what they’ve been up to…relationships, jobs, homes…etc…yeah…ya know what I mean..including mine as well….

it is time to stop LIFE-ING, and start LIVING!
making a dent in changing the world, is not the responsibility of atlas, it is a feasible opportunity for ALL OF US! so reach out and take somebody’s hand! step up for what YOU can do to make the world a better place,
every time you say NO to conversations of fear and scarcity, and take a stand against intolerance, greed, and indifference, and say I MATTER, and I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
then YOU are one step closer to BEING that change. so stop just reading and observing and hearing, but actuallyLISTEN to the message, let it soak into your bones until it truly CALLS YOU TO ACTION! life is not a spectator sport. jump in and LIVE, and make that difference, then this message will have achieved its purpose! Each week, millions and millions of upper middle class American citizens put on expensive dress clothes, and load themselves into SUVs and drive past homeless shelters, orphanages, prisons, missions, and halfway houses on their way to a very expensive and nice church, where somebody tells them how to be more like Jesus.

To say that Jesus has saved the world is a joke. And a very unfunny one. Religion has only contributed to hatred and intolerance in our society.

      • Lindsey permalink

You sound like you hate Jesus and what his purpose was here on earth. I can only assume it’s because you were never taught the truth by your parents. Think of the belief in Jesus kind of like the movie THE MATRIX just so that you can understand the concept of what he did for you.

Most of the people in The Matrix did not know what the real truth was. Most of them lived oblivious in the MATRIX. Only a few knew the truth in the movie, like Morpheus and Neo and their gang of people… Neo in the movie set all of those people who were in the matrix free because he was the one that was prophesied about. One that would set them all free and redeem all the people held captive by the Matrix and the machines. He was the appointed one just like Jesus was appointed to die on the cross for all of mankind sin. He redeemed what the Devil tried to take away from us. It had to be done so that we could be acceptable to GOD again on the day of Judgement which we will ALL go to when we die. The ones who believe that he died for your sins, and declares that Jesus Christ is Lord will be saved & will have eternal life. Those that don’t and reject this truth will go to hell and burn in eternity forever.

Not everyone wears expensive clothing to church. Poor people go as well. Why do you place yourself as anonymous. Most homeless shelters, orphanages, and missions are funded by various types of churches. Do some research before you speak what you obviously know nothing about.

I am not sure why you hate Jesus maybe your jealous of the power of his death and resurrection, which means you are on the wrong side of the fence….. He literally died so people like yourself can have ETERNAL life, not just life here on earth. Accept him into your life and ask him if he is REAL then to help you in your life and see what he does. He does hear and see everything you say and do. Whether you believe it or not.

There will be wars and arguments, with or without religion and to use that as an excuse to not believe in GOD is quite pathetic if you ask me. Do some research and know that of the 2000 prophesies in the BIBLE most have already come true. Here is a link so you can read for your self about all the ones that have come true already.

I also recommend that you go to a local Church of Christ in your community so you can be better informed as to why Jesus did what he did and study the most sought after book to date since it was written it has been the best selling book of all time.

The time on this earth is short my friend and I can only hope and pray that you get saved before it’s too late…..Jesus is coming back REALLY SOON.

No one said Jesus is saving the world, he is giving us the opportunity to make better choices and the opportunity of being forgiven for our sins. Yet you as a human being was created with free will to make the choices that you want to make. If you chose not believe or follow that is up to you.
People themselves are who create hate not religion. As an individual I recommend you become more diverse, it will give you the opportunity to have an open mind about the world and people who do live on this earth. It does not take your parents to demonstrate the truth, you need to find your own truth, because some parents believe it or not may not be good examples. You need to seek what works for you to reach the path of your salvation. Good luck!

She meant that he is so dedicated to trying to make a change in this world that it tears him up and destroys him because so few are willing to help while so many are willing to criticize. It is so sad to see the rejection you received while you doing a good deed. When I live in New York City, I had only two dollars in my pocket and was hungry so I purchased two hot dogs @ $1.00 ea. Yeah, I know nothing is worth a dollar anymore that was a long time ago. A male approached me saying he was hungry, so I gave him my 2nd hot dog, he threw down on the floor, and demanded money. I was heart broken that my kindess was not appreaciated, so I know what you mean. I learned along time ago that some people who you think may need help are people who take for granted our good hearts and some people do not even want to be helped.I do not give any money either. If you are hungry and I am able, I’ll buy you the meal instead. If everyone would pay it forward this earth would be a much better place.

I think it’s sage that you are putting your thoughtfulness out there for people to see and to bring awareness to what is on the back of everyone’s mind. Most people are to scared to speak up and take action for the simple reason of fear. But the greater fear is, what will it be like to live in a world without compassion and virtue. If the world continues to lose it’s humanity and humility we will surely lose the life on the planet we call our home. It is going to take many selfless or egoless people and bloggers like you to keep reminding people that life full of ignorance and apathy, without purpose and meaning will ultimately end the way it was lived, pointless.
We need solutions, because the debate about climate change is over. The only way we can get the changes and solutions we need are through powerful people like lawmakers and politicians. I support a movement to better the world and the state of humanity, however it is a movement that will start with small steps and lead to greater accomplishments with some momentum. Our only other option is to sit back and watch… in other words, inaction. Keep blogging and stay positive.

Hello, I saw your youtube, The biggest thing people don’t understand is breathing (the homeless went homeless due to issues brought forward via the brain not using or getting oxygen properly, it builds up and down) Western world does not understand, and the east is forgetting, you have to practice breathing, it has to be built forward, shit bothers you because it beats in your heart and in your head-it doesn’t have an answer. … Your ability to help others should not hurt, except your a good person and, so- don’t hurt yourself and others…. this should be enough, If you take vocabulary out (so no words) you will understand the ones you can help and the ones, well you don’t have to help. I appreciate your words coming from someone who only sees hate in the world. It don’t matter unless your proper in your own feet- help others-breathe-today for and easier tomo.

I totally agree that we can not save those who do not want to be saved. It is unfortunate that people in todays society do not appreaciate the world that we live in today. People say I am a very social person, it is not that I am social it is that I am willing to share a smile, a pleasant word to another human being. I do not live in this world by myself. It does not cost any money to say good morning, or open a door for someone.

Because only then can the connection be ultimately universal (If everyone were to practice showing genuine love). Unfortunately, everytime some”one” does something significantly positive for humanity they end up getting killed(Abe Lincoln, JFK, Bruce Lee, Martin Luther King, Comedian Bill Hicks, and the list goes on). Not until many people research for themselves the true ills of society and spread the knowledge – will we even make a dent in saving the planet. I see homeless people in my hood all day and all night but they have developed a disgusting habit and unfortunately for them I’m done helping them out. I’ve shared my last 5 dollars with the homeless many times in the past and hey if i feel to be in a giving mood i will continue to.

love means ….accepting…..first….the shadows within you…..embracing them with understanding…not necessarily following them…but embracing… the parts of you that you fear…that you try to hide…that you sometimes unconsciously despise….Love is powerful….real LOVE is powerful….more than logic can define…Love is yours…Love is mine ❤ I love you…because I could be you….this dose is too strong…

Hi, there is need to go back to scriptures to find out the reality of life. I think some of these problems highlighted here are already mentioned in the scriptures thousands of years ago.

Hey, you are not alone, infact you have an infinite amount of people who seek liberation from a world consumed by a constant and desprate attempt to attain irrelivant materialistic possessions, or cover up their insecurities with a fake and distorted image of american beauty. My name is John Grimm. I am a Hip-Hop Lyricsist from Chicago. I currently live in south Florida, and belive me when I say that the environment that a person is placed in should have nothing to do with a the how a final product should turn out. We as a whole are in need for a revolution. I will lead the fight on the front lines. (954)

I agree with what your proposing on Your not alone in your thoughts or dreams. The world we see in front of our eyes was simply fabricated from the time us younger ones were being raised. The repercussions were never thought of when it was developed. (For example. extending late night fast food from 9Pm to Midnight, then 3 Am) they never calculated the damage it would cause for someone who was unaware of dangers involved in eating so late, only their the amount money was calculated) It must come to end, a reconstruction of our entire economic is needed. People till this day are under what is called a physiological induced drug that puts an individual into a state of mind to portray as a robot under the authority of the government and the way life should be lived. When in fact the only way to live life is for GOD allowing him to take the wheel in the direction your life should go. But as humans we tend to think that we are better drivers and we are better at the decisions we make for ourselves. I agree with you in every way. how to change it is not through emotion or feeling of guilt or through sadness for others. You change it starting with you, leading by example. As a homeless person myself for over 2years I can honestly say we can change, deliver yourself to GOD and allow him to control the direction you take, Allow him to choose the decision you make. Always remember this as I did when i was homeless ” If the birds do not worry what they eat, why would the children of the world ever think the Father of all would need tend to his children” Very true statement, I suffered a great deal being homeless for 2 years, yet I was determined that it would not be like forever giving each day to GOD. There were times when i went with nothing to eat but there was a reason for it.. not because the lord did not like me that day or did not hear me yelp that day. But because it was not necessary for me to eat that day. Acknowledgement of the Lords deeds is acceptance into the Kingdom of Heaven. I wish you all the best. If there is anything I can do please feel free to contact me @ I would be more than happy to help you..

I stumbled upon your site while looking for non-exsisted jobs. I agree with almost everything you’ve written.
Life seemed so much better in the late 1950’s when I was growing up. We had no t.v’s, or even a telephone.
I am struggling to make my way, un-fortunately we need money today to live. I don’t have much, but am
considered to have a bleeding heart. I bring food to homeless people, but they prefer a $1.00 for a beer.
I explain to neigbors they cannot leave their dog out 90 degree weather………nothing is sinking in to anyone.
I stay home most days and tend to my garden.
What exacting is the kind of help your looking for. You intend on publishing a book-to make money I presume.
You want to save the world, by spreading a message that were all feeling, so we know were not alone.
Great. But it’s also a money issue is it not?
How would you re-pay people’s efforts to donate to your cause?
Just asking-cause I’m sick of everything too.

WoW i just saw the ad on craigslist and the video, and homie you are fucking awesome!!! your not alone…and by just scrolling down this page i see we arent either….i feel some what the same way you do, the urgency to help change our world…to be part of a movement to change this place we call home… wishing the stupidity of modern day society will actually wake up and evolve into a greater species, its a shame we have so much technology and protential yet we still are fighting wars, have poverty worldwide, and politics that are full of lies and deception 4 profit and power, a place where profit is more important than some1s life, why do we have $ in the 1st place arent we advance enough as a species to live without currency? what makes me any more important then some1 who was born in a third world country? ugghhhh it doesnt make sense we are all the same, we are all one….. using gas as energy? really? when telsa basically made electrical car possible a long time ago,we also have wind, solar, and water energy at our disposal yet we are still over seas killing over oil? its because money is the reason, and money is power, the people who see us as stock,or battery, because we give em money we give em power, energy, its sad and people are more concern about the next episode of jersey shore than waking up an realizing how much we are being lied to and bein used like pawns in a chessgame to protect the royalty, its either people dont care or have too much trust in the government…….and its true evrything you said, you do speak knowledge homie don’t give up that urge to get things done, who knows how much longer we have left on this earth, all this collossal “natural” disaters are becoming too overwhelming, maybe the revalations are true, revolutions are going on all over the world, and we are most likely next, and mentioning all the countries we are pissing off who say a ww3 isnt coming, all this dead birds, fishes, buffalos, and species of animals dying over night in the thousands? doesnt that make anyone think shit is getting kinda bad,yet people turn the other cheek, so 1 thing i can say i hope you can learn to do, just 1 thing i know is possible, because i was once in your shoes, and this is……. LOVE LIFE…or it would simply be a waste of 1 an all ur thinking and planing will go 2 waste, how can you make peace if you have no peace within… how many people on this earth have it bad, like in japan facing radiation threats, worried if their baby will come out normal or not, worried if any day thier organs in thier body will collaspes,or ppl in the middle east who have had half thier bodies blown off, wishing they can walk again, missing fingers, or the homeless man that you speak of, wishing he had a bed, food, and a family who cares 4 him…im not saying you shouldnt worry about your fellow man, because its people like you that actually will be the reason we will change this world, i love you 4 that homie never give that up, but love your fam, love yourself, love life, love the way you see the sky turns purple b4 sunset, or the sound of the animals at night, or how good it feels it is to wake up alive n walk, having both hands attachd, with a fully functional brain, being able to see! dont take this things 4 granted homie, please dont, im speaking 4rm the heart, dont take this 4 granted because you never know what 2mrrw holds…with that said and done i have some websites you might be interested check it out……………..thier next meeting is on aug.25 i believe at fiu library heres the link to the meetup…….. ………i will be going 4 my 1st time i hope i’ll see you there homie, this is 1 small step towards what i feel is what you wish to accomplish…and even tho i think politics should be abolished, it doesnt stop me 4rm being really into it, because it affects us daily so knowledge in politics is needed in order to make a difference its just the system we live in currently, i cant change it, not now at least more people have to start waking up just like you and me, but till then i recommend you start reseaching on RON PAUL, this is the only person who can save this nation, am not gonna tell you to vote 4 him because once you watch and research him you’ll understand why we need him in order to progress to the next step….human evolution.
and anyone who read this and dont think people are sheep, you must be part of the herd, and if you dont feel this you must be asleep, makes you the worst kind of slave, the one who thinks he is free!

p.s: and whenever you have that rage inside you, you could pick up a spraycan and paint the city with your knowledge, make em think, stain their brains with a clever message, wake em up…..just dont hit up mom n pop shops or ppls homes, but by the way you think im sure your 10x better than that… smart,be safe, and live life everyday like it was your last…..join the revolution! its time to rise, time 2 evolve, its now or never…….and dont forget theres still good people in his world, your not alone, and am super glad to see your ad it actually showd me am not alone, and ambitious to make a difference, like ghandi said “Be the Change You Want to See In the World”
    peace and love homie…..

I’m with you buddy, you are not alone so chin up. The world has taken the wrong turn and most people have become zombies but there’s a few out there that won’t accept this pathetic, lifeless life that people live these days. Anybody who thinks that we humans are futuristic and that we live in an technology advanced world cause we were given an i phone that does a few things along with retarded anti social FB as the quality of life gets worse, you work 12 hours a day, People can’t raise a Family cause they don’t have the time or money to do so. We are so advanced that as we talk on our amazing cell phone and our car looks like a UFO the wheels on it are stuck to the road in a traffic jam, it comes stil with a spare tire and it’s burning oil and gas polluting the planet, woooo hoooooo, futuristic isn’t it ??????. Humans can’t even come up with a better transportation system after all these years, LOL. WOW I’m really impressed with what humans have done with the world, not what they showed us in movies that the year 2000 would be like. Humans failed to create the world they promised in movies and instead the only way that they came up with is to rip the majority off in order to have something. the world is nothing but one big rip off, weightloss lies, mortgages with strings attached, Gym memberships with strings attached, wrinkle cream lies, every product on the shelve doesn’t do what it promises, the list is endless. Everything keeps going up but your paycheck doesn’t go up, turning you into a modern slave ??? Does that make sense to you ??? Humans are dumb animals, take a look at the planet and you’ll see the meaning failiure, every country is filled with poverty, crime, rape, starvation, corruption and deception. Humans can not cut the cake in equal pieces and provide the same quality of life for everyone, they have to steal in order to have something and leave others with nothing. I’m not impressed with the virus called the human race, and they aren’t intelligent beings, they are thugs thaat don’t care about anything but money and they’ll do whaateever it takes to get it, even if it means starving and killing people. Bottom line the world is getting worse not better and that’s not what i call progress all because you allow pencil neck geeks sell you lies. United we stand Divided we fall, well that’s true, here we are falling divided. No more rebels, just obedient sheeps bending over while the leaders have a party with you.
