Healthy Cures for Boredom

You can:

  • Go shopping and buy a bunch of shit you don’t need and can’t afford
  • Eat some overpriced food (that you’re not really hungry for) at a restaurant and criticize the food and service
  • Sit in a dark movie theater for 2 hours and criticize the movie afterward
  • Text message everyone else you know that might be as bored and unimaginative as you
  • Head/stay home and watch TV until you get tired of watching shitty television
  • Smoke marijuana long enough to enjoy doing nothing or at least long enough to forget that you wanted to do something
  • Watch a 3 minute youtube video and then spend 4 hours reading all the stupid comments about the video (that have come to a point that has nothing to do with the video)
  • Convince yourself that your family has better things to do than hear from you… as you slowly give $400 to a slot machine
  • Buy more lottery tickets for the same numbers you’ve been playing for the past decade and hope to break even in the failed investment by winning
  • Head out to a bar for “happy hour” with some coworkers while you talk about how miserable work is.

Or you could:

  • Throw a Frisbee at a park
  • Organize and play in a kickball game
  • Put a puzzle together
  • Play a nostalgic board game
  • Recruit a stranger into a game of battleship
  • Attend a local open mic

You forgot to put build a zen garden in your back yard with bonsai trees and build a pond with japanese fish in it with a little bridge to walk over it.

Oh and tattoo your children with your initials on them so they are branded with your name.

Ok the three pages I’ve read are very interesting. The dollar one is a great idea. I live in Billings Mt. and so far have not seen one or never paid attention to what is written on a dollar bill. Healthy Cures for Boredom is great. I love it; just do something other the buy or watch what others do. Bring happiness to other lives or create something. Nice web site

or sit still and do nothing, then maybe you can understand the boredom rather than try and run away from it in any of the above ways.

    Here’s one I’ve always loved:

    Read something inspiring.

    Don’t forget to include:

Going on a hike, finding a beautiful canopy of trees deep within the forest and building a hammock!

Then… visiting later with your friends to relax, study and maybe even have a drum circle ^_^

Also, I love engaging in random ELEVATOR conversations… tends to make it a little less akward and sometimes… you even make a new friend! 🙂
